Does it help me run?
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, we do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Hebrews 12:1-2
John Piper says “Don’t just lay aside sins to run this race, lay aside every other weight that gets in your way.” Are there things in your life that are getting in the way of you running the race God has set before you? May we run the race with an anticipation that we are going to see our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face at the finish line.
“The sufferings of this life are not worth comparing to the glory that is to be revealed to me.” – John Piper
